Description:
Designers love Kvadrat for their sophisticated products and the care it takes in project ideas and concepts and continuous research. Also Kvadrat’s showrooms are unique and great places for the experience of fabrics, but also ambients to talk about design projects interiors and architecture. We discussed the Cologne showroom project under the aspect of experiencing textiles in a different and unusual, but exciting way which lead to the concept of a collage of overhead hanging fabrics – like in a dye house in India or South America where the coloured fabrics are waving in the wind, fixed on bamboo poles or wooden sticks. To experience a complete Kvadrat colour collage in a space we invented the „Kvadrat Cabin House“ – a small piece of architecture dressed as a collage in a wide range of fabrics.
All storage elements are conceptualized in a very new spirit: the curtain racks, the rug rack and the shelf are new ways of presenting Kvadrats textiles in a textile „Garden of Wonders“.
