To be at once seat and sculpture, a chair must satisfy standards that would appear to be contradictry.
The new DS-143 /DS-144 seating family, however, refutes this paradox. Minimalist in its streamlined design, it affords the maximum of seating comfort. The flatness created by its encircling edgework imbues the seats with unaccustomed clarity, directness and immediacy. The star-shaped bases takes up and continues the striking design language which enables the DS-144 to merge into contemporary living areas and demanding contract projects with equal aplomb.
With upholstery in muted tones, the aesthetic effect flows solely from the chair’s shape and the quality of its leather. It holds the body in a comfortably yielding embrace just like the perfect seat of a racing car.
